Vita
Recorder player Kathrin Härtel, who lives in Frankfurt am Main, began her musical training at primary school age. In addition to recorder lessons at the music schools in Bielefeld and Lübbecke (Westphalia), she was a member of the children's choir at Neustädter Marienkirche in Bielefeld for many years. Numerous competition successes encouraged her to make playing the recorder her profession.
She initially studied for her Bachelor's degree with Prof Michael Schneider at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts.
She successfully completed her Master's degree with Prof Karel van Steenhoven at the Karlsruhe University of Music in 2017.
From 2021-2024, Kathrin Härtel took up another master's degree at the HfMDK Frankfurt with Prof. Jan van Hoecke ('Historische Interpretationspraxis'), from which she graduated with distinction.
She is co-founder of the ensemble Flauto Attiorbato, which is dedicated to the repertoire for recorder and historical plucked instruments.
Kathrin Härtel is also increasingly involved with the csakan repertoire from the 19th century.
She has received further musical inspiration in maxterclasses with Maurice Steger, Han Tol and Dorothee Oberlinger, among others.
Numerous concerts as a soloist and in ensembles have taken Kathrin Härtel both at home and abroad. She has been involved in various opera productions, including at the Nationaltheater Mannheim and the Staatstheater Mainz.
She also teaches privately in Frankfurt am Main and at the music school in Langen (Hesse).
